Governor Bala Abduqadir Mohammed has been acknowledged for supporting environmental activities in the state..

The state commissioner ministry of Housing and environment Danlami Ahmed Kawule made the acknowledgement at the flagging of annual state desilting and fumigation exercise at Kobi street, Bauchi.

Danlami Ahmed Kawule said more than five thousand youths will be engaged to desilt about sixty thousand metres of drainages and fumigate more than four hundred neighborhood across the state.

The commissioner pointed out that the project which is supported by AcreSal is aimed at desilting drainages to avoid any blockage that leads to stagnation of water that serves as the breeding ground for vectors.

In his remarks, the state program coordinator AcreSal Dr Kabir Ibrahim said they have supported the fumigation and the desilting exercise with one hundred and twenty five million Naira.

Also commenting the director general BASEPA Dr Mahmud Mohammed Bose thanked Governor Bala Abduqadir and the contributing partners for supporting them to champion the desilting and the fumigation exercise in the state.

Dr Mahmud Mohammed Bose said the agency will fully monitor the excercise so as to ensure all wards are fully covered and called on communities to assist them to achieve their goal.

In his vote of thanks , the chairman Garu co-leaders association malam Abubakar Nuhu commended BASEPA for coming up with the excercise.

Abubakar Nuhu who is the Ward head of Ajiya quaters promised full support and cooperation of all the traditional leaders towards the success of the exercise across the state.
