Bauchi State House Of Assembly has called on the state executive arm to construct drainages at Tatari Ali Quarters under tsakuwa/Kofar Gabas/ Kafin Kuka ward and Ibro Kafinta quarters in Azare-Madangala constituency.
The call is contained in a motion moved by the member representing Azare/Madangala Constituency Zakariyya Sale, the house Minority whip during plenary.
The lawmaker in his presentation, said the disaster is causing several difficulties like contamination and soil erosion which exposed the area to numerous dangers.
According to him, the disaster has last year destroyed several buildings and properties worth millions of naira in the ward.
Still during the plenary, the member representing Chinade/Madara constituency in the state Assembly Dr. Nasiru Ahmed Ala has presented a motion Calling on the state government to seek clarification from the federal government on gender right and associated clauses in the controversial SAMOA agreement.
According to him, the SAMOA agreement as stated, is formed based on human Rights, democracy and governance, peace and security, human development, environmental sustainability among others.
Dr. Ala said Nigeria as a multi cultural and multi religious country, composing of a significant proportion of Muslims and Christians faithful, none of them advocates for sexual immorality in the name of gender right.
To this, the lawmaker urged the state government to take appropriate measures of preventing the spread of certain ungodly activities like adultery, formication, lesbianism, same sex marriage among others, with a view to uphold religious and cultural values.
