The Bauchi State Action Committee on sexual and Gender based violence, under the office of the first lady , Dr Aisha Bala Mohammed has pledged to offset debts of one million , seven hundred and seventy nine thousand, eight hundred Naira owed by 17 year old Nazira Mohammed of Diya quarters who was apprehended for non payment.
The Secretary of the Committee, Hajiya Talatu Musa Gar made the pledge at a press conference in Bauchi.
Hajiya Talatu Gar indicated that the Committee received the report of the girl’s dilemma through Fomwan, saying the loan was incurred by her mother who is at large, hence the need for the intervention to assist her by offsetting the loan.
Also speaking, the Vice president of FIDA Bauchi chapter, Chief Magistrate Safiya Musa urged people to imbibe the spirit of supportiing each other when in need ,and to avoid exploiting the less privileged inorder to have a peaceful society.
The legal practitioner also advised members of the public to be law abiding and avoid acts capable of generating conflicts among the people.
She commended the first lady for coming to the Aid of Nazira Mohammed , and prayed God to reward her abundantly.
In response , Miss Nazira Mohammed expressed gratitude to the first lady for protecting her rights through the intervention and assured that she would be of good behaviour.
