Bauchi Speaker Pledges Support for KABASIYA,

The Speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, Abubakar Y Suleiman, has pledged to intervene in addressing challenges facing members of the Kauran Bauchi Singers Association (KABASIYA).

The Speaker gave the assurance while receiving officials of the association during a familiarisation visit to his office.

The visit provided an opportunity for the group to present issues affecting its operations, particularly complaints of alleged restrictions by security personnel preventing members from accessing the Government House and venues of official events involving Governor Bala Mohammed.

Responding, Suleiman assured the delegation that he would engage the Governor’s Special Adviser on Media to ensure members of KABASIYA are granted easier access to government functions and activities.

He stated that although the political platform had changed, Governor Bala Mohammed remained committed to the welfare and development of the people of Bauchi State.

The Speaker further promised to facilitate an audience between the association and the governor, acknowledging the group’s contributions and relevance in the political landscape of the state.

He also assured the association that efforts would be made through his office and that of the governor to provide KABASIYA with an office accommodation, a vehicle and financial support within the shortest possible time.

Suleiman reaffirmed the commitment of the Bauchi State House of Assembly to supporting initiatives aimed at improving the living conditions of residents through people-oriented projects.

Earlier, the Chairman of KABASIYA, Hussaini Seller, thanked the Speaker for granting the delegation audience and outlined some of the challenges confronting members, especially difficulties in accessing government functions.

Another member of the delegation, Andi Bature, said the association had developed strategies to promote the Allied People’s Movement APM and increase public awareness of the party.

Other members, including Sadik Shani and Anas Mutunci, noted that singers played significant roles in promoting the achievements of the governor and expressed readiness to continue mobilising support for the new political platform.
