Bauchi State House of Assembly has called on the executive arm of Government to rehabilitate and construct major roads within Chiroma constituency of Misau local government area.
In a motion he presented during plenary, the member representing chiroma constituency Yahay Ahmed Maikudi urged government to prioritize the reconstruction of the Kari–Misau–Kano road, describing it as critical to the social and economic wellbeing of the people.
He appealed to the House to ensure that the road projects are captured in the 2026 budget estimates, stressing that urgent intervention is necessary.
According to him, most of the major roads in the area have reached alarming conditions, with many either broken down or completely impassable.
Yahaya Maikudi said movement of goods and services are extremely difficult, resulting in high transportation costs, reduced economic activities and causes hardship to commuters.
He maintained that addressing the road infrastructure deficit would transform the lives of residents, revive the local economy and strengthen the overall development of Bauchi State.
