The Bauchi State Infrastructure Development and Maintenance Agency, has said that, it is taking proactive measures towards improving the state’s infrastructure.
The Director General of the Agency Engineer Abdulrahman Mai’auduga, stated this when he featured on the BRC live-phone in programme on the planned Economic Summit, to be conducted in the state capital.
He called on Bauchi citizens especially politicians to remove unnecessary billboards across major locations in Bauchi metropolitan, as part of urban renewal and regulatory cleanup initiatives to address unauthorized structures in the state capital.
Engineer Mai Auduga added that, action aligns with the state government’s urban renewal programme to create a clean, orderly and visually appealing environment across the state.
According to him, compliance is crucial in ensuring a well regulated and aesthetically pleasing urban landscape in Bauchi State.
Engineer Abdulrahman Mai Auduga warned that, any illegal or unapproved structures would be subject to immediate firm enforcement action.
The Director General of the Agency, further urged billboards practitioners and owners to always seek for proper guidance and follow the necessary procedures from the agency to avoid serious consequences.
Also speaking, the Managing Director, Bauchi State physical planning and Control, Dr. Ibrahim Mohammed has called for a change of attitude in physical planing.
He said this change requires adopting new planning practices and consolidating new behaviors into lasting habits through strategies like action planning and leveraging public education and positive framing of environmental concern.
The Managing Director advised members of the public to embrace sustainable urban design and promote greater awareness of the benefits of urban green spaces.
