Bauchi Governor’s Wife pledges commitment to support the Almajiri education system in the state

Bauchi State First Lady, Dr. Aisha Bala Mohammed, has reaffirmed her commitment to supporting the modernization of the Almajiri education system through her pet project, the Almuhibbah Foundation, in collaboration with the Sheikh Dahiru Usman Foundation.

Dr. Aisha gave the assurance during a visit to a Tsangaya school along Gombe Road, where she inspected facilities to identify areas that require intervention.

She said the initiative aims to strengthen both Islamic and Western education, introduce skills acquisition, and equip Almajiri pupils to become self-reliant.

According to her, modernizing the Almajiri system will not only improve learning but also reduce the burden on Islamic teachers.

She encouraged parents to visit their children at least once every month and provide basic needs to enable the teachers focus more on teaching and managing their families without hardship.

The First Lady further advised the school authorities to maintain a manageable number of pupils to ensure proper care, supervision, and effective learning.

Earlier, the Director of the school, Dr. Muhammad Mujtaba Abdulkadir, commended the First Lady for her continuous support toward upgrading Tsangaya education with literacy, numeracy, and skills training.

He said the time has come for the long-desired reforms, expressing confidence that Dr. Aisha’s efforts will bring lasting improvement to the system.
