The Speaker, Bauchi State House of Assembly, Dr. Abubakar Y. Suleiman has reaffirmed the legislature’s commitment to advancing education across the state through legislative support, policy frameworks, and collaboration with the executive arm.
Dr. Abubakar made this known at the 1st Annual National Conference and Workshop organized by the Faculty of Technology Education, Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU), with the the theme: “The Future of Education in an Era of Artificial Intelligence (AI).”
Speaking at the conference, the Speaker emphasized that Artificial Intelligence is rapidly transforming global systems, including education, industry, and governance.
He noted that, Bauchi State must align its educational system with digital innovations to prepare youths for emerging challenges and opportunities.
Dr. Suleiman lauded Governor Bala Mohammed for his unwavering commitment to transforming the state’s education sector.
He cited the construction of mega schools, renovation of thousands of classrooms, and partnerships with global institutions as proof of the governor’s dedication.
According to him, the recent collaboration between the Bauchi State Government and a Canadian firm to train youths and graduates in digital skills is among several forward-looking initiatives aimed at ensuring that Bauchi students remain competitive globally.
The Speaker also commended the organizers of the conference and the management of ATBU, for the infrastructural and academic transformation of both the old and new campuses of the university.
