Bauchi State House of Assembly has expressed readiness to collaborate with the Nigeria Institute of Management in the areas of training and capacity building workshops for its staff and the legislatures.
The Speaker of the assembly Dr. Abubakar Y Sulaiman stated this during an interactive session with members of Nigeria Institute of Management on a courtesy visit in his office.
He said the move became necessary considering the key role the institute is playing in promoting professional management practices and excellence in Nigeria.
Dr. Abubakar Sulaiman revealed that, the collaboration will help the parliamentary staff update their skills and foster professional development.
Earlier, the leader of the delegation and Deputy President of the institute Alhaji Umar Mustapha said the visit was to familiarize with the members and staff of the state Assembly and to inform them on the planned annual Summit of the Institute to be held in Bauchi.
He stated that the summit is an annual event where all members attend to discuss issues of national interest, issues that concern the Institute and proper solutions.
Alhaji Mustapha while commending Governor, Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed for his visionary leadership, extended an invitation to the Speaker and members of the house to attend the institute’s zonal annual summit.
According to him, the zonal annual summit is expected to attract participants including management professionals, academics, legislature policymakers and experts from the North East zone.
