Bauchi State House of Assembly Committee on Health and Human Services has embarked on an inspection tour to key primary healthcare facilities across the state.
The leader of the team Hon. Bello Sarkin Jadori who stand in for the Chairman of Committee Hon. Lawal Dauda member representing Sade Constituency said the purpose of the visit is to assess the current state of healthcare delivery, identify pressing challenges, and explore strategies to enhance the quality of services provided across the sector.
According to him, the visits will focus on evaluating the healthcare infrastructure and overall service delivery at each facility.
He revealed that the committee during the inspection visit will engage directly with medical staff, hospital administrators, and other relevant stakeholders to gain deeper insight into the operational challenges these institutions face.
Bello Sarkin Jadori emphasized that the initiative will allow the lawmakers to gather first-hand information that will inform their oversight duties and contribute to shaping effective national health policies.
Speaking at the offices of the executive chairmen of Ganjuwa, Ningi and Warji Local Governments, other members of the Health Committee, Sale Hodi Jibir, Hamza Sa’idu, Ahmed Abdullahi and Builder Sa’idu Sulaiman Darazo said the committee is mandated to oversee health-related policies, initiatives, and health institutions in Bauchi.
They reaffirmed health committee’s dedication to promoting a healthcare system that is accessible, efficient, and responsive to the needs of Bauchi population.
Receiving the committee in their respective offices, the executive Chairman of Ganjuwa Alhaji Mohammed Idris Miya, and that of Ningi Local Government Alhaji Nasiru Zakarai as well as Alhaji Aminu Barmani of Warji Local Government represented by his deputy Habibu Idi Tiyin appreciated the health committee from the state house of assembly for the visit and pledged their support in complementing governments efforts of improving the health sector.
The selected primary healthcare facilities so far visited by the health committee are, Kafin Madaki Primary HealthCare Center, Kariya A’ Ward Primary HealthCare Center of Ganjuwa, Ningi Town Maternity, Nasaru primary healthcare center in Ningi Lg, Katanga Primary healthcare facility and Buranana health care center in Warji Local Government.
