The Chairman of Alkaleri Local Government Area, Alhaji Garba Hassan Bajama has flagged off the distributions of palliatives materials provided by North East Development Commission in the Council.
During the flag off ceremony, the Chairman applauded the North East Development Commission for the donation.
Represented by his deputy Alhaji Abbas Ibrahim, Alhaji Hassan Bajama said the donation was timely and would ameliorate the challenges the masses are experiencing as a result of the economics reality.
He appealed to the committee constituted for the distribution of the provided items and the councilors representing various wards in the area to ensure the items were not diverted.
Alhaji Bajama called on the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the items and prayed for the NEDC and the state governor for their concern in supporting the people.
The beneficiaries of the gesture expressed gratitude to the state governor and the North East Development Commission and prayed Allah to reward them abundantly and pleded to make effective utilization of the items.
The items distributed include; bags of rice, cartons of superghetty , mats among others.
