Agricultural expert calls for adoption of modern farming Technichs

An Agro Consultant in Bauchi State, Umar Adamu Sarkin Yara has advised Farmers in Bauchi State to abandon obsolate farming methods and adopt modern agricultural practices to enhance productivity, sustainability and profitability.
gave the advice at a one day training organized by Dass Ten for local farmers selected from 8 wards in Dass Local government Area.
According to him, the objective of the engagement was to train farmers to adopt an improved method of farming to increase food production and to eradicate poverty and hunger.
He acknowledged the challenges being faced in the country, but assured the farmers of a better future.
Adamu Sarkin Yara commended Dass Ten for initiating the training session, noting that, it will complement governments efforts of ensuring food security and promote economic development.
In a welcome address, the Chairman of Dass Ten Mr. Iliya Musa Zagi said the forum was established in 2018 with only ten members as a humanitarian organization to support the people of Dass Local Government Council.
Represented by the Treasurer of the group, Barrister Solomon Ezekiel Magaji, the Chairman urged the participants to fully engage in the training to gain valuable insights into the opportunities offered by modern agriculture.
He congratulated the farmers on their participation in the training and highlighted modern farming methods as key factors in enhancing agricultural productivity.
Speaking on behalf of the trained farmers, Malam Usman Abdullahi appreciated modern farming techniques as a means to increase food production and eradicate poverty in Dass and state in general, adding that the training session was apt and impactful, and promised to put into practice, the knowledge acquired.
He appealed to governments at all levels to support local farmers with funds and modern working tools to enhance productivity.
The training program covered fundamental aspects of crop production and new agricultural farming methods and participants were also given hands-on experience in applying modern farming skills in the field.
