Special Education center Yelwa now under ministry of Women Affairs

The state government has transfer the activities of the special Education center Yelwa from the ministry of education to the state orphans and vulnerable children agency under the supervision of ministry of women affairs and child development.

Speaking to newsmen shortly after the handing over held at the state ministry of education conference hall, commissioner of Education, Hajiya Jamila Dahiru said the aim is for effective management

She added that the move will also improve the educational standard of students in the state particularly the less advantaged children.

Represented by the special adviser to Governor Bala Mohammed on education Alhaji Adamu Zakari the Commissioner also reaffirmed the state governments desire to ensure every child in the state, irrespective of their status get equal and qualitative education in the state.

On her part, the state commissioner of women affairs and child development Hajiya Hajara Gidado assured her ministry’s dedication towards complement the present administration efforts to improve the education of children with special needs in the state.

The commissioner, represented by the permanent secretary of the ministry Bello Abdullahi commended the state governments foresight to improve the educational standard in the state.
