Traditional leaders in Bogoro Local govt pledge support towards success of ongoing Seasonal Malaria Prevention exercise

Traditional and religious leaders in Bogoro Local Government area promise to support health workers achieve full compliance on the ongoing seasonal Malaria Chemo Prevention exercise
‎‎The declaration was made by the village head of Bogoro Nuhu Tafida during the community engagement sensitization meeting on seasonal Malaria Chemo Prevention held at the council chamber of the local Government today.
‎According to the village head, Bauchi state Government has made significant progress in reducing malaria cases among children in Bogoro Local Government area since the inception of the SMC initiative in 2021, noting that the  achievement is a testament to Sen Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir dedication to combating malaria.
‎. The Bauchi State Ministry of Health and the Malaria Consortium have played a crucial role in ensuring the success of the SMC initiative, he noted.
‎. Nuhu Tafida also appreciated the Bauchi state primary health care Development agency ,World bank,  Malaria consortium who has also lent their support to the program, accepting the roles of traditional as well as religious leaders across the three village heads area of Bogoro, Lusa and Boi who are also committed to serving as SMC advocates, further amplifying the program’s reach.
‎He urged all stakeholders, community leaders, health workers, and parents to join hands in promoting the 2025 SMC program affirming that by working together, the local Government will be able to protect its children from the devastating effects of malaria and build a healthier future for generations to come.
‎In her response, the Seasonal Malaria Chemo Prevention Local Government area field assistant Haj Hafsat Idris Ahmed appreciate the roles played by the traditional and religious leaders on the SMC campaign.
‎‎Hajiya Hafsat appealed to them to address misconceptions and promote uptake of seasonal Malaria Chemo Prevention activities in their community.
‎. She further called for working synergy between health workers, local Government and community for effective delivery and collaboration for the success of the SMC exercises.

‎According to her, Bogoro Local Government is projected at 104 % perfect and the most leading local Government area in Bauchi state during the just concluding circle two exercises.
‎Speaking earlier, the Director Primary Health Care Department Bogoro LGA Mr Godwill Hakuri welcomed everyone to the epoch making event and appreciated the leadership and administration of Sen Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir and Executive Chairman Bogoro Hon Yakubu Lawi Sumi for being supportive of the health sector through their dedication and passion for the health of the people and well being of the children’s.
Mr Godwill Hakuri equals thanked the traditional and religious leaders for their support at all times and called for more strengthen collaboration.
