Tafawa Balewa Local Govt maps out modalities to address school drop out syndrome.

Tafawa Balewa Local Government Council has continued to mount pressure on Traditional rulers to beef up campaign on enrollment of school aged children to bridge the gap created by drop out syndrome in the area.
The enrollment drive campaign team recently inaugurated by the council has taken this mantra to Traditional rulers at the grassroots level to reinforce their strengths and resilient towards overcoming any obstacle that could hinder enrollment and retention of children in schools.
It was alarming that the local government is recording significant setbacks in recent years in regard to drop out children, rating the local government as number four in the State, the situation that requires holistic approach to address.
The council however viewed Traditional rulers as critical stakeholders in this crusade, and urged them to work towards reclaiming the position of the local government as per as education is concerned.
Cross section of the speakers in all the village areas visited were of the believe that illiteracy is playing greater role in the rising cases of insecurity in northern part of this country hence the need to put all necessary mechanism in place to get these school aged children back to school.
The Chairman of Tafawa Balewa Local Government Alhaji Samaila Wakili re-echoed that Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has declared state of emergency on education, hence the need for all relevant stakeholders to work towards reviving the standard of education, warning that anyone found wanting will not be spared.
