NAWOJ Bauchi promises to champion the needs of women to realise their potentials in all aspects of life

The Bauchi state chapter of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists Nawoj, in collaboration with UNICEF, Bauchi Field office, and the office of the First Lady Bauchi state, have emphasised the need for Women to embrace second chance opportunities in learning aimed at improving their livelihood.

This was the view of stakeholders at a one day training programme organised for women in Bauchi as part of activities marking the international Women’s day held at the American Space Bauchi.

Declaring the program open, the chairperson of Nawoj Bauchi, Mrs Rashida Yusuf identified Education as the backbone of socio economic development of every society , hence the need for women to be inspired to ensure inclusion in every aspect of their livelihood.

Mrs Rashida Yusuf assured that Nawoj would leave no stone unturned towards the need to invest in women in all its ramifications in accordance with this year’s theme for the celebration of the International Women’s Day celebration, which is “” Invest in Women””.

She used the forum to challenge Women Journalists and women across the globe to play key role in motivating and inspiring women to invest in Education to enable them achieve their goals.

In a remark, the Coordinator Almuhibba Foundation, Alhaji Aliyu Duguri, disclosed that the foundation has established skill acquisition centers in some local government Areas in the state and Abuja, aimed at providing opportunities for women to acquire basic skills.
He applauded Nawoj Bauchi, for its leading role in improving the welfare of Women in the state.

 

In a goodwill message, on behalf of Communication Partners collaborating with UNICEF, Alhaji Umar Muhammed Shira, applauded Nawoj for organising the training programe , describing it as an eye opener for women to invest in Education through engagement in entrepreneurship and skills acquisition programmes, aimed at improving their socio economic wellbeing.

He called on governments at all levels to provide opportunities for women to explore their potentials in the society, and commended Nawoj for providing the opportunity for women to realise their potentials.

A Resource person at the occasion, on the Director General Social Development Goal, Bauchi state Mrs Lydia John Shehu encouraged women in the state to be steadfast in the quest to acquire knowledge , towards impacting positively in their livelihood.

Other resource persons , Hajiya Ibrahim Kilishi, and Haiya Yagana spoke on the importance of Education to societal development.

About forty participants attended the programme.
