Katagum Local Government chairman donates drugs and other consumables to the local government Healthcare department.

The Executive Chairman of Katagum Local Government Council Yusuf Babayo Zaki has donated drugs and other consumables worth millions of Naira to the local government Healthcare department for onward distributions to all the hospitals and health centres across the area.

Presenting the items at the Local Government secretariat in Azare, the chairman noted that, the idea behind the gesture was to ease the hardship experienced by poor masses in the cause of seeking medical treatment from number of diseases.

Yusuf Babayo Zaki revealed that, in view of the recurring malaria fever, flu and other health issues bedeviling people, there is the need for quick and urgent intervention to help in such manner so as to bring succour to the patients.

While calling for judicious distribution of the drugs towards ensuring that it reach the target beneficiaries, the chairman warned against illegal diversion of the items by the officials.

Receiving the items, the Director Healthcare Department Katagum Local Government Dr. Jibrin Muhammad Inuwa, appreciated the efforts of the chairman, noting that the donation came at a time when it’s needed most in view of the number of sick persons suffering from different ailments.

He promised to ensure judicious distribution of the free drugs for the needy and less privileged people in order to make healthcare services accessible to all.

Also commenting, the Village Head of Azare Alhaji Abdulkadir Ali Shira commended the chairman for taking his people at heart at all time by providing such an important healthcare support.

In attendance, were local government administrators, healthcare officers, traditional rulers and religious leaders.

The package donated includes variety of drugs, drips, test kits and other consumables.
