Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed says the state government is behind the Senator representing Bauchi Central in the 10th National assembly, Abdul Ahmed Ningi, who was suspended for three-months by the Senate.
Ningi was suspended by the Senate, on Tuesday after which the Senator subsequently resigned his position as the Chairman of the Northern Senators Forum (NSF).
Speaking during the State Executive Council meeting at the Government House, Bauchi, Bala said he was sad upon hearing the suspension of the former senate leader, saying the truth, for standing up to be the beacon of the truth.
He therefore appealed to the relevant authorities to investigate the matter for political stability in the country.
The Governor also announced plans by his administration to introduce another round of palliative in this Ramadan to ease citizen’s sufferings throughout the period.
He noted that his administration is very much aware of the challenges facing the people in terms of food insecurity and assured that government would soon provide food to them.
