BY Muhammade Giade.

Giade Local Government Council has established a law that will allow farmers to use their farmlands for dry season farming without facing encroachment from rearing animals.

The Executive Chairman of the Local Government, Alhaji Usman Muhammad Saleh, made this known in a chat with BRC reporter.

He noted that, the new law was passed and approved to give farmers the right and opportunity to cultivate their crops carefully in due course, as well as extend the use of their farmlands for dry season farming to boost food production.

Usman Muhammad Saleh further explained that the law requires farmers and animal rearers to respect each other’s rights by not blocking the cattle routes and preventing the animals from destroying crops.

He called on the people of Giade Local Government to abide by the regulations from the constituted authorities for the growth and development of the area.

The chairman added that the council has provided cassava and tomato seeds and machineries including four tractors to support local farmers during the dry season.
