FOMWAN received a pad on the back for promoting Girls Child education in Nigeria.

The Federation of Muslim Women Association of Nigeria has been commended for promoting girls child education in Nigeria.

The Speaker of the House of Representatives Dr. Tajudeen Abbas Made the commendation at the Annual National conference and fourty Years anniversary celebration of FOMWAN held in Kaduna State.

Dr. Tajudeen Abbas represented by Professor Abduljalal Dan Baba said the Federation of Muslim Women Association in Nigeria has contributed through Da’awa and promoting girls child education in Nigeria as well as empowered women across the nation to become role models in the society.

Dr Tajudeen Abbas congratulated them for celebrating their fourty years of establishment.

In her remarks, the chairperson Board of Trustees of FOMWAN Alhaja Lateefah Modupeola Okunnu said within fourty years, FOMWAN started in Minna and later became a global movement, with the mission of bringing together all branches in to a formidable body that will foster unity of the entire Muslim Ummah

Alhaja Lateefah added that FOMWAN has synergises with ministry of education and the National drugs law enforcement Agency to battle drugs abuse in school and to managing anti- Social behavior.

In her goodwill message the Deputy Secretary General from united nations Amina Muhammad congratulated FOMWAN for achieving alot after forty years of establishment.

Earlier, the National Ameerah of FOMWAN Hajiya Rafee’a Sani Iduwo said this year’s conference is more than a milestone, it is a tribute to decades of vision, resilience and impact driven by Muslim Women committed to education and better communities.

The National Ameerah further that FOMWAN is working tirelessly to implement activities and programs across all areas by creating transformative change through Nigeria and Da’awa activities.

She added that FOMWAN has three thousand education Institutions nationwide including day care centers, nursery, primary, secondary and higher Institutions, Islamiyya Qur’anic Centers and adult literacy programmes making quality education accessible at every stage of life.

The theme of this yeare annual National conference, is Empowering Muslim Women in the face of climate change building resilience, sustainability and community development while showcasing FOMWAN achievements.
