The Chairman Bogoro Local Government area Yakubu Lawi Sumi has urged health workers to ensure that no child is exempted from the distribution of the Malaria drugs in the area.
He made the call during the flagged off of 2025 Seasonal Malaria Chemo Prevention+ Vas exercise held at Bogoro Primary Health Care center.
Yakubu Sumi who described Malaria as a child killer, pledged to accord all the necessary support to ensure success of the programme.
He charged parents to present their children for the exercise, describing the immunization as free, safe, and an essential right of every child.
The Chairman applauded the State Governor Senator Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir for his tireless efforts in the health sector.
In his welcome address, the Director Primary Health Care Department, Bogoro local government Mr Godwin Hakuri commended the Council Chairman for his support to the health sector at the grassroot level.
According to him, the beneficiaries of the program are children between 3 to 59 months for the seasonal Malaria chemo prevention drugs and 6 to 59 months for the vitamin A vaccination during the campaign.
He encouraged the health workers to be dedicated to their duty for better service delivery.
In a vote of thanks on behalf of the traditional rulers, the village head of Lusa, Mr Dauda Zabas thanked Bauchi state government and Chairman Bogoro Local Government for securing a healthier future for the children.
