Bauchi State shari’a Commission has mapped out plans to sanitize zakkat and endowment operations in the state.

The Chairman of the commission Malam Hamisu Ya’u disclosed this when he appeared before the house commitee on religious affairs for 2025 budget defense.

Malam Hamisu Ya’u, said with the support of the state government, the commission has addressed some bottlenecks hindering the operation of zakkat collection and disbursement.

He said, in the 2025 fiscal year, the commission will update all it operational procedures to meet the taste of time.

According to him, HISBAH unit of the commission is set to be an independent body after the passage of the bill which is currently before the house of Assembly.

In his remarks, after the budget defense the Executive Secretary christians pilgrims welfare board Mr. Ibrahim Gwallang, said all arrangements has been concluded for this year’s pilgrimage to Jerusalem and appreciated the support received by the state governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed.

Mr. Ibrahim Gwallang, assured that, the state contingents will receive special treatment, urging them to be good ambassadors to the state and provisions has been made in the 2025 budget to reposition the operation of the board.
