Bauchi State Shari’a Commission distributes Zakkat to the less privileged in Miya, Ganjuwa LG.

 Bauchi state Sharia Commission has distributed 29 cows and 8 goats as Zakkat worth millions of naira to the less privileged at sabuwar siri in Ganjuwa local government area of Bauchi state.

The Sa’in Miya represented by chairman Zakkat committee in Alhaji Ibrahim Yaki who stated this during the distribution excercise in sabuwar Siri, said the animals were collected from farmers in the area for onward distribution to the needy.

Disturbing the animals to the beneficiaries, the Commissioner Zakkat at the Bauchi state Sharia Commission Professor Zubairu Abubakar Madaki commended the Zakkat committee in Miya for thier tireless efforts in the collection of Zakkat and distribution in all nooks and crannies of the area.

Professor Zubairu Madaki expressed displeasure on how some wealthy Muslims refused to give out Zakkat as at when due, saying there are lots of bounties in giving out Zakkat.

He urged Muslims to be contented with all that Allah has given to them and enjoined farmers to as soon as they harvest their farm produce to emulate such.

Earlier, the Village Head of Miya, Alhaji Sulaiman Yakubu who expressed dissatisfaction on how some wealthy people refuses to give out Zakkat pledged his continued support in the collection and distribution of Zakkat in his domain.

On his part, the chairman Bauchi state Sharia commission Professor Hamisu Yau Dass represented by the Commissioner Da’awa in the commission Dr. Hassan Dikko applauded the village head for his efforts in Da’awa and collection of Zakkat in Miya village.

Professor Hamisu Dass said Zakkat is among the five pillars of Islam and quoted Prophet Muhammad Peace be Upon Him, saying that Zakkat is mandatory to every ones whose wealth or animals attained the status of given out Zakkat.

Some of the beneficiaries interviewed, expressed delight for the kind gesture and prayed Allah to reward those that give out zakkat from the wealth abundantly.
