Bauchi State Govt Proposes dry farming Agricultural Scheme to boost food security.

Bauchi State Government has proposed a modern dry farming scheme on 200 hectares of Gagi Fadama land in Sarma Village, Akuyam District, Misau Local Government Area, an initiative aimed at boosting food security and creating job opportunities for youth.
The proposal follows a visit by Governor Bala Mohammed to Akuyam several months ago, during which he pledged to drive agricultural development in the area.
A delegation from Bauchi State Ministry of Lands and Survey, led by Comrade Saleh Umar Misau, Director Inspectorate and Monitoring Services, who is also the Chairman Committee for Monitoring Distribution/Allocations of Farmlands in De-reserved Forests representing Commissioner for Lands and Survey Alhaji Abdullahi Muhammad Gwaram visited the proposed demarcated land for proper design and planning.
During the inspection visit,, the delegation gathered that the community currently engage in farming activities based on lease arrangements, and assured them that farmers whose existing farmlands were affected by the project would be compensated accordingly.
Responding the District Head of Akuyam, Alhaji Iliyasu Aliyu, welcomed the development, and commended Governor Mohammed for executing several developmental projects in the area.
