Bauchi State Government dismisses plan to join the planned nationwide protest.

Bauchi State Government has denied plans to join the nationwide protest slated for first to fifteenth August.

The Secretary to the State Government, Barrister Ibrahim Kashim, made the declaration at a press conference held at the Government House.

Ibrahim Kashim emphasized that the state government is not aware of, nor welcoming, any protest in the state.

He warned potential protesters to “think twice” before attempting to organize any demonstration in Bauchi, stressing that the state government will not tolerate any breakdown of law and order.

The press conference was prompted by false information circulating about the state’s approval to close Primary Healthcare Centers on the day of the planned protest.

Ibrahim Kashim debunked this claim, stating that Bauchi state government has no knowledge of or involvement in the decision.

According to him, an investigation into the matter has been launched and the officer responsible for sharing the false information will face consequences and assured that all Primary Healthcare Centers and public institutions in the state will remain open, emphasizing the government’s commitment to maintaining peace and stability
