BAUCHI STATE GOVERMENT DISMISES HEAD TEACHER IN KATAGUM LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA OVER NEGLIGENCE TO OFFICIAL RESPONSIBILITY

The Bauchi State Government has dismissed the head teacher of Dagaro Primary School Adamu Bawa in Katagum local government area from service over his negligence to official duties.

The Executive Chairman, State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Alhaji Adamu Muhammad Duguri who announced this when he paid a visit to the Emir of Katagum Alhaji Faruk Umar the second shortly after an unscheduled inspection visit to public primary and Junior secondary schools in the Area
He said the board during the visit had discovered neither students nor teachers on ground where some unpatriotic youths were seen returning chairs of the school from a private occasion
The chairman noted that the head teacher was found untidy and drunk when he went to ascertain the unwholesome act at his residence.

Alhaji Adamu Muhammad Duguri said the present administration in the state had warned that any staff found wanting would be punish accordingly
He expressed disappointment that some unrepentant teachers have refused to desist from commiting act of truancy, despite the recent increament of their salary by the state government
The SUBEB boss reiterated that head teachers who engaged in illegal use of school property would face dismissal from service when caught.

He called on stakeholders in public primary education to assist in monitoring and supervising teachers in their localities and report anyone found wanting to the board, to include non challant attitude to work, absenteeism and misuse of school property
Alhaji Adamu Muhammad Duguri thanked the Emir of Katagum Alhaji Faruk Umar the second for his support on reforms in public primary education.

Responding, the Emir of Katagum Alhaji Faruk Umar the second assured his readiness to support the state government”s commitment towards addressing challenges facing the education sector in the state
Earlier, the Education Secretary Katagum local government council, Adamu Alhaji Mohammad said his office would enforce discipline in schools to ensure quality service delivery and thanked the SUBEB Chairman for the unscheduled inspection visit.
