Bauchi State Commissioner for Natural Resources presents the ministry’s 2024 score card.

Bauchi State Commissioner for Natural Resources Development Muhammad Maiwada Bello has shared some significant milestones achievements recorded by the ministry in his one-year anniversary in office.

Presenting the ministry’s 2024 score card in Bauchi, Maiwada Bello emphasized the Ministry’s role in spearheading sustainable exploration, development and management of the state’s natural resources, particularly in solid minerals, oil, and gas, to drive economic growth and diversification.

Despite several challenges encountered, Bello outlined various initiatives and accomplishments over the year in office.

Key among the challenges he said, include replacement of four vancancies and the recruitment of fifteen junior staff with a view to address manpower challenges and revitalize the activities of the State owned Mining SPV known as Bauchi Mining Synergy and Exploration Limited (BAMSEL).

Others according to him, is the facilitation of payment for forty three new recruited staff in Bauchi Oil & Gas Academy Alkaleri (BOGAA) and collaborated with the office of the Head of Civil Service in sanitizing the the ministry’s payroll,

The commissioner revealed that the ministry has also introduced policies aimed to monitor mining operation with a view of taking measures in addressing some of its Negative effects and issuance of mining consents to all investors and formalizing artisanal miners operations through Data generation as directed by the state government.

Bello announced that, the ministry has commenced documentation of all Tinshade operators, processors and mining vendors, saying it is yielding positive result in terms of revenue generation & data acquisition.

The Natural Resources Commissioner expressed gratitude to Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed for his support to the ministry and reaffirmed his commitment to advancing Bauchi State’s economic and environmental sustainability through strategic resource management and collaboration with stakeholders.
