A Bauchi State Mobil Court has convicted five individuals for violating the state’s end of month sanitation exercise.
Magistrate Laraba Hamisu delivered the judgement, citing the defendants’ breach of Bauchi State Environmental Protection law, and warned that it would serve as a deterrent to others.
The court also directed Green Moon Science Academy to provide functional toilets to continue academic activities.
The court asked Danjuma Goje street residents who were found guilty of failing to clear waste channels and provision of Catchment pit that would led to airborne diseases, despite prior notice to ensure compliance or face the full wrath of the law
The defendants, Salisu Isa, Yakubu Mohammed, and Abubakar Abdullahi, attributed their non-compliance to hardship during Ramadan and requested more time to clean up.
Meanwhile , the court has granted an extension until April thirtieth twenty twenty six, pending their compliance.
Magistrate Laraba Hamisu then asked BASEPA to monitor the situation and ensure adherence to sanitation rules.
