BAUCHI FIRST LADY REASSURES COMMITMENT FOR MORE COLLABORATION WITH ORGANISATIONS TO SUPPORT WOMEN AND CHILDREN

The State first lady Dr Aisha Bala Muhammad assured of more collaboration and support with any Organization towards assisting women and children in the state.

The first lady gave the assurance when she received in audience Members of the National Agency for the prohibition of trafficking in persons (NAPTIP) and Ihisan Zakkat and Wakaf Foundation (IZWAF) in her office.

Dr Aisha Bala Muhammad identified poverty and ileteracy, lack of awareness as part of major problems responsible for parent”s act of sending their children as houseGirls or guides to hawk on streets, hence the need for more awareness and orientation concerning the activities of the National Agency for the Prohibition of trafficking in persons in the state, with a view to educating people on the dangers of such acts.

The first lady ensure her Maximum support and her door always remains open for the two organizations towards for the sevety of the women and children in the state.

Speaking Earlier the commander of the National Agency for the prohibition of trafficking in persons NAPTIP in the state, Mr Mansur Ahmad said the command is new in the state, established this year which commenced full activities in July this year to fight against human trafficking among the society..

Mr Mansur Ahmad said they were at the first lady”s office to introduce themselves and seek for more collaboration through her pet project, the Al’muhinbbah Foundation.

He Commended the First lady for her efforts towards assisting women and children in the state.

On her part, the coordinator of Ihsan Zakkat and Wakaf Foundation IZWAF ,Hajiya Halima Ibrahim Abdullahi said the organization established this year, is aimed at assisting women,orphans and Vulnerable and any Muslims sister Organization in the state.

Hajiya Halima said the Ihsan Zakkat and Wakaf Foundation has established its Agricultural garden having over nine hundred different trees ,brought together by members.

According to her, recently, the Foundation had distributed Zakkat to fifty orphan”s families in Bauchi metropolis, and assured the first lady that very soon, the Foundation will empower over one million widows to start petty businesses that will cater for their families.
