FUDECO pledges to support government at all levels in fighting insecurity.

The Chairman of Fulbe Development and Cultural Organization of Nigeria, Bauchi State Chapter, Engineer Aliyu Umar Sambo has assured the readiness of the association to support governments at all levels to address the current insecurity bedeviling the country.

 

The Chairman also condemned allegations levelled against the Fulani cattle herders as the major perpetrators of banditry and other related crimes across the country.

 

Speaking at a cultural event organised by the Fulani Development and Cultural Organisation (FUDECO), Bauchi Chapter in commemoration of the FUDECO National Day of PuLAKU held at Distination Hotel Bauchi, Engineer Aliyu Umar Sambo said real Fulanis do not terrorised people.

 

He said the organization was establishment five years in the county and enumerated some of its achievements to include, creating awareness to members on peace, education, self reliance and collaborating with NIMC to ensure communities of Fulani are fully register and obtained their PVCs among others

 

The Chairman called on his members to extend their full support and cooperation to their leaders at all levels to achieve the collective goals of peace, unity, and development

 

Engineer Aliyu Umar Sambo also urged members of the association nationwide to refrain from engaging in any forms of criminality and seek for knowledge.

 

On his part, the Chairman of the occasion Dr Adamu Sambo( Sarkin Shannon Pallama) said the aimed of the event was to Foster unity among diverse cultural heritage of Fulani nationality in the county

 

According to him, a Fulani man is expected to carry a stick and cutlass to depend his livestock, seek for knowledge and cultivate farm as taught by Usman Danfodio.

 

The Chairman who was the immediate past commissioner of Health called on the Fulani to remain proud of their culture and values.

 

The Theme of the event was Celebrating Fulbe Cultural Heritage, Peace and Unity.
