Civil and Public servant ask to adopt long and short term plan ahead of their retirement

 

Civil and Public Servants in the country have been asked to adopt long and short term plan to manage their life ahead of their retirement to prevent any eventualities.

A lecturer with Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University ATBU Bauchi Dr. Zainab Aliyu Ahmad made the call during a three day training workshop on retirement planning for civil and public servants organised by Gombe State government in collaboration with prime Tech solutions industries held in Bauchi..

Dr. Zainab Ahmad who explained that planing is critical said there is need for then to have critical thinking and planning ahead of retirement is key hence the need for civil servants to plan ahead of their retirement for them to live a secured and promising life after retirement urged them to plan since the very day they got an appointment.

In a remark, convener of the workshop and Secretary organising committee retirement plan Engineer Imran Yau Waziri said the workshop was organised in order to equip the participants with technical knowledge on retirement strategies to serve as their retirement plan to ahead.

Engineer Imran Waziri and urged them to make an informed decision and not to over depend on salaries saying that over dependence on salaries can cause brain drain to any civil servants.

In his paper presentation a lecturer with the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa UniversityATBU Bauchi Professor Mansir Malumfashi who condemned the notion of some people termed retirement as a death trap said is a way of freedom for retired civil servant to make choices to way of living and urged them to engage in entrepreneurship skills and other trade to guarantee their future.

In their separate responses, some of the participants the ALGON Chairman Gombe State Dahiru Kawu ,Musa Idi Patori and Mark Latoyo said the workshop is an eye opener to to gateway to retirement plan saying that they will put into practice what they have learnt as well as step down what they have learnt to others.
