Bauchi state Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has announced the tentative fare of this year’s Hajj fare
Bauchi state Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has announced the sum of 8.254 million Naira as tentative fare for this year’s Hajj exercise as fixed by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria NAHCON.
The Executive Secretary of the board, Malam Abdulrahaman Ibrahim Idris who announced this during a press briefing in Bauchi, said the increase was due to exchange rate of the dollar.
Malam Abdulrahaman Idris explained that all intending Pilgrims who deposited the earlier fare of 4 million, 690 naira are expected to pay additional 1.918.32.19 million naira.
He pointed out that the Federal government has given four days grace for the payment completion and has paid a certain amount to support those who have completed their fares and intending Pilgrims will pay the remaining 1.918.32.19.
Malam Abdurahaman Idris said the board has also directed all Hajj affairs officers to take charge of the changes and urged all the intending Pilgrims to ensure timely completion of their payment.
The Executive Secretary also said 2,290 intending Pilgrims are expected to perform this year’s Hajj exercise , while those that who have not paid any deposit are to pay the sum of 8.254 million naira for this year’s Hajj exercise.
Meanwhile, the Bauchi state Muslims Pilgrims welfare board has appealed to the National Hajj Commission to extend the deadline for the completion of payment..
