Young Leaders Network advocates for transparency and good governance at the grassroots

Political appointees have been advised to always consult the electorates with the aim to carry them along in the scheme of things.
The call was made by the state project manager Young Leaders Network Mr Seun Justin Onarinde, during a two day workshop held at the conference hall of Bogoro local government area.
The workshop title ‘Citizens Engagement and Entry Point Mapping’ organised by Young Leaders Network for Directors, Civil Society Organisations, Traditional rulers and the media.
Seun Justin Onarinde, said for political leaders to govern well, there must be respect for rule of law, citizens participation, accountability, freedom, equity and transparency in the art of governance.
Appreciating the Bogoro local government council for being supportive Mr. Onarinde, enjoined the leadership of the council to work hard to make the people benefit from the government.
Seun, noted that lack of proper consultation between politicians and the people has been the major reason for poor governance in Nigeria.
Earlier in a welcome address, the Head of Administration Alhaji Bala Garba said Bogoro Local Government Council will work with the Young Leaders Network in enhancing participatory democracy at the local government level.
Represented by the director Admin and General Service Mr Nehemiah Markus, he said they will use what they learn from the two days workshop to strengthen quality service delivery to the masses.
