Yankari Game Reserve and Wildlife conservation Society Pledges to ensure better life for the Wildlife.

The leadership of the two organisations gave the pledge during the international day for rangers celebration,held at Yankari games reserve and Safari.

Speaking to journalists during the occasion, the General manager Bauchi state tourism develoment corporation Dr. Muhammad Nasir Yusuf said that the United Nations has set a side the thirty first July of every year to appreciate the selfless services rendering by the rangers to save guard the wildlife around the world.

Dr Muhammad Nasir Yusuf also commended the members of the rangers for their giant stride towards complimenting the state government efforts in ensuring sustainable conservation in the state.

Rangers Day 2024 celebrated with WCS at Yankari Games Reserve

While applauding the state governor Bala Abdulkadir Muhammad for the gigantic support given to the wildlife Parks, also called on him to maintain the spirit.

The general manager also thanked the development partners especially WCS for the support given to the Yankari games reserve for overall development of tourism industry in the state.

According to Muhammad Nasir, during their assigned responsibilities, some of the rangers lost their lives, some are sustained various degrees of injuries as a result of animals and human activities, this is the reason WCS has Conducted Free pollution program to appreciate their efforts in restoring the image of Yankari Games Reserve .

To this end, he urged relevant stakeholders to support rangers by showing care, commendation and this will go along way towards archiving the desired objective.

Also speaking the state programme manager of wildlife conservation society,Nura Yusuf Ahmad said that the WCS was in Bauchi since two thousand and nine, rendering their services in the area of law enforcement and regular training for the rangers aimed to protect the park from the Intruders.

According to Mr Nura Yusuf before arriving the WCS, the reports they were receiving is that almost ten to twenty elephants were shooting annually but now the narration has change and appealed to all and sundry to support them in order to save the life of wildlife in the park.

He said that apart from law enforcement also WCS has participating in the area of procurement of vehicles and other gadgets to the rangers for the smooth conduct of their operations.

Responding, one of the rangers Muhammad Ali Fanti commended the wildlife conservation society for the support given to them and called on them to sustained it.
