Nigerian First Lady solicited the support of Bauchi traditional rulers on her Renewed Hope Initiatives.

The First lady of Nigeria, Remi Tinubu has solicited the support of the traditional institution in Bauchi state for the successful implementation of her Renewed Hope Initiative.

The first lady made the request when she paid a courtesy visit to the Emir of Bauchi, Alhaji Rilwanu Sulaiman Adamu in his palace.

Remi Tinubu said the Renewed Hope Initiative was designed to improve the lives of the citizens and assured to come up with more initiatives to advance the welfare and well-being of Nigerians through Agriculture and ICT.

She noted that Nigerian at the moment needs prayers to overcome the numerous challenges facing it, saying it is a time for the country to be united more than before for nation building.

On his part, Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, appreciated the first lady on her Renewed Hope Initiative to address poverty and huger especially among women and youth and assured of the support of his administration to the initiative for the success of the project in Bauchi state.

Responding, the
Emir of Bauchi, expressed gratitude to the first lady for bringing a number of developmental projects to the state and acknowledged her desire to address women and children’s plights across the country.

Meanwhile, Oluremi Tinubu has inaugurated the Community IC Centre for Education Resource in Bauchi with a call on women and youth to utilise the facility.

Speaking at the occasion, the first lady said the centre was constructed in collaboration with
National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) with her Renewed Hope Initiative to contribute to economic growth and development.

She disclosed plans by her Renewed Hope Initiative in collaboration with the Bauchi state government to empower a large number of women in the state for poverty reduction and employment opportunities.

In a keynote address, the Bauchi state governor, Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed applauded the first lady for working with institutions in line with her track record of providing opportunities to Nigerians

The governor said
Bauchi is ready to collaborate with stakeholders on digital economy for the benefit of the state and its people, adding that his administration is committed to the growth of ICT.

Governor Bala Mohammed described the establishment of the community IT centre as a welcome development and assured of the readiness of the state government to make good use of the community IT centre for the training of youth to be self reliant.
