Katagum LG Education Secretary calls for Increased Enrollment in Schools.

The Education Secretary Katagum Local Government Malam Adamu Alhaji Muhammad has called on parents and other relevant stakeholders in education sector to put their hands together towards enhancing schools enrollment in the area.

He made the call in an interview with newsmen in Azare after he paid a routine visit to some schools in the area as part of effort to ensure compliance of resumption of academic activities at the beginning of the session.

The secretary who expressed dissatisfaction with the level of low schools attendance during the first week of resumption, urged parents to be proactive in sending their children to schools to the better their future.

He said education is the best legacy parents should bequeath to their children, hence the need for all hands to be on deck to ensure that this important element is given required support and attention from all stakeholders involved.

He noted that necessary measures have been put in place to ensure full implementation of their plan of action to reduce the rate of out of school children in the area to the barest minimum.

The Education Secretary stated that in line with the government programmes and policies towards boosting enrollment, participation and attendance of pupils, the local education authority provided basic grounds to make primary education accessible to children from diverse backgrounds.

He tasked teachers to desist from absentism and ensure punctuality, warning that’s defaulters will be decisively dealt with.
