FEDERAL MINISTRY OF AGRICULTURE PARTNERS OFFICE OF NIGERIA’S FIRST LADY IN SENSITISING STUDENTS FARMER’S CLUB ON BEST PRACTICES

The Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security in collaboration with Renewed Hoped Initiative of the First lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria through the office of the Bauchi state First lady Dr Aisha Bala Mohammed has organised one day workshop to Sixty Young Farmers club student’s from primary and secondary Schools.

Addressing the participants, the state first lady Dr Aisha Bala Mohammed said the young farmer support programe was launched to empower young people and encourage them to take up the mantle of agriculture.

Dr Aisha explained that agriculture is all about growth, sustainability, and creating opportunities for a brighter future, hence the need to equip them with the tools, knowledge, and skills necessary to succeed in the field.

The state first lady who emphasized that, agricultural empowerment programe has been incredibly rewarding, said recently, Bauchi state government has initiated Women Agricultural Support Programme (WASP), where 150 women were trained across the State.

According to her, each of the women were given one hundred thousand naira and agricultural inputs worth over thirty-six million naira.
She added that, through the Youths Agricultural Support Programme, 100 Youth provided were given fifty thousand naira each as support worth nine point two million naira.

Dr. Aisha Bala Mohammed thanked the first lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria senator Oluremi Tinubu and the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security for the partnership and all those who have supported the programs.

In a vote of thanks on behalf of the beneficiaries, Ruth John appreciated the two First ladies and the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and food security for the gesture and promised to use the provided equipment and the money given to them accordingly.
