Federal Government approves the purchase of CT Machine at the ATBUTH, Bauchi.

Federal government has approved the procurement of CT Scanning machine for the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Teaching Hospital, Bauchi.

The Chief Medical Director of the ATBU Teaching Hospital Bauchi, Professor Yusuf Jibrin announced this while fielding question from newsmen shortly after a townhall meeting organize for stakeholders held at College of Nursing Science Auditorium of the hospital.

Professor Yusuf said with the recent intervention by the Federal government for pregnant women in case of emergency, about 400 women benefited from such initiative since the commencement of the program January this year.

The CMD of the hospital further explained that, over the years, the hospital charged 45 thousand naira as fee to conduct three cycle dialysis patient, the lowest charges compare to other states hospital, stressing that, through government intervention, the hospital now collect 12,000 with over 300 patient benefitted from such gesture.

Commenting on harassments of patient by staff and other irregularities in the hospital, Professor Yusuf said such behavior has drastically reduce with disciplinary actions taken by management of the hospital.

The CMD who spoke extensively on some of the misconception of the ATBU teaching hospital from delay in giving patients care, staff rudeness and unfriendly of the personnel as well as suspension and termination of appointments, said due process are adhere as well as fair hearing for airing staff.

In their goodwill messages, state sector commandant of the FRSC, state commissioner of health and district head of Bauchi extolled the leadership qualities of the CMD and emphasized the need to maintain such gesture.

Also speaking, the Chairman of the occasion, Emir of Bauchi Alhaji Rilwanu Suleiman Adamu represented by Sarkin Maganin Bauchi Saidu Gital, the Emir urged the participants to give out meaningful input on the best way for improve services of the hospital.
