Emir of Katagum describes education as bedrock of societal developed.

Education has been described as bedrock of societal development, especially to the younger generation been the leaders of tomorrow.
The Emir of katagum Alh.Dr. Umar farouq II made the ascertion at the occasion of the one hundred years Anniversary of Azare central primary school held at the school premises in Azare.
Alhaji Umar farouq II who is among the school’s alumni, congratulated them for the historic milestone.
The Emir who attributed the successes recorded in the area of providing quality education to the populace, prayed God Almighty to reward prominent personalities of katagum Emirate for their contributions to the development of education in the area.
He re-iterated the Emirate council’s continued support in promoting education at grassroots level, saying plans are on establish education committee that will work with stakeholders of the Emirate to transform the sector.
In his lecture presentation, Dr. Muhammad sani Abdu from the Federal University Gashuwa who spoke on the significance of education in katagum Emirate, described primary education as essential for the development of skilled work force and strong economy of any Nation.
Dr. Muhammad sani urged communities to strive and give children quality primary education .
Also speaking, the chairman of the occasion, the former secretary to the Government of the federation Alhaji Mahmood Yayale Ahmad said Azare central primary school been the first Elimentary school in katagum Emirate was created in 1923 and has produced alots of personalities including late Alhaji Sule katagum, wazirin Katagum; Alhaji Aminu Saleh, wamban Katagum; late Emir of katagum Alhaji Dr. Kabir Umar among others.
Alhaji Mahmoud Yayale Ahmad used the medium and thanked the Emir of katagum, Alhaji Umar farouq the second for his dedication and hard-work at all times in supporting in education, and commended the organisers of the event.
Those in attendance include the Caretaker Chairman, katagum local government council, malam Musa Azare and that of itas Gadau local government, member representing azare madangala constituency in the Bauchi state house of Assembly, Zakariyya saleh Mai gero, district heads of katagum Emirate, other traditional tittle holders as well as old boys of the school and well wishers among others.
Highlight of the event include award presentation to some personalities and distribution of books tittle ” Central primary school, azare the premier school in Azare.
