BAUCHI STATE TRADE UNION CONGRESS APPLAUDS ROLEPLAYED BY TEACHERS INSHAPING THE EDUCATION SECTOR
The State Chairman Trade Union Congress Cmrade Mohammad Sabiu Barau Ningi has commended the role that teachers played in shaping the future of education and called for the urgent need to incorporate their perspectives into educational policy and decision-making processes.
Comrade Mohammad Sabiu Barau Ningi stated this while speaking to newsmen shortly after he attended this year’s World Teachers Day organized by Academic State Union of Secondary Schools, State Chapter State Chapter held at Trade Union Secretariat in Bauchi
He stressed that teachers deserved to be celebrated globally for their dedication, especially while working under stressful conditions.
He urged the government to provide adequate infrastructure and learning materials in basic and secondary schools across the state
On his part, the President Academic Staff Union of Secondary Schools, State Chapter Comrade Bala Sambo commended state government for providing infrastructure, learning materials for basic and secondary schools across the State
He also insisted that despite the numerous challenges they face in the profession they will remain committed to celebrating their resilience and perseverance in working under difficult conditions.
Comrade Bala Sambo appealed for an increase in years of service, special allowances for teachers, scholarship opportunities for teachers who wish to pursue higher education, fast-tracking of promotions, provision of training and retraining, enhanced education management system
The president therefore thanked state government for incorporate them in its on going education programs and reforms and assured their commitment to achieve the set objectives
