Bauchi State Internal Revenue Service vows to make Bauchi State financially sustainable.

Bauchi State Internal Revenue Service has vowed to ensure integrity, accountability, transparency and make the state financially sustainable through internal revenue generation,
Executive Chairman of the Service Alhaji Mu’azu Usman stated this in an interview with newsmen after defending the board 2025 budget proposal before the state house of assembly committee on finance.
Alhaji Muazu Usman disclosed that BIRS has mapped out series of innovative plans in order to improve the revenue thrive of the state, which he said would enable state government achieve successful implementation of the 2025 budget.
According to him, the state internal revenue service is ever ready to to work hand in hand with the House committee on finance for efficiency and purposeful leadership as well as professionalism.
Responding, the Chairman State house of assembly committee on finance Tanko Ibrahim Burra said the committee is to work in synergy with the relevant MDA’s towards the successful implementation of government policies and programmes for enhance budgetary performance in the state.
According to him, house committee on finance is responsible for financial legislation, allocating state funds prior to expenditure from the treasury.
Other responsibilities of the committee together with that of appropriations he said include supplemental spending bills, which are some times needed in the middle of fiscal year.
The chairman of the committee called on the ministries, Department and agencies to ensure full compliance with the laws governing it’s establishment for transparency and accountability.
Tanko Ibrahim while expressing satisfaction with the performance of the Bauchi State Internal Revenue Service, promised to support then to achieve the desire goal of the state government and of generating revenue through the provision of quality and accountable services to the citizenry.
