BAUCHI STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY CALLS FOR INTENSIVE EFFORTS TO ESTABLISH BAUCHI STATE SCIENCE AND TECHNICAL EDUCATION BOARD

 

 

The Bauchi State House of Assembly Committee on Education has urged the state education Ministry to expedite action on the establishment of the Bauchi State Science and Technical Education Board.

The Chairman of the Committee Dr. Nasiru Ahmed Ala PhD made the call when he led other members of the Committee on a familiarization visit to the newly appointed Bauchi State Commissioner for Ministry of Education, Dr. Muhammed Lawal Rimin Zayam in his office.

According to him, it is one of the House tradition to visit and congratulate newly appointed commissioners as a gesture of friendship and collaboration.

He emphasized the importance of fostering a strong working relationship between the committee and the education ministry to advance the state education sector.

Dr. Nasiru Ala highlighted the three core responsibilities of the state assembly to include, lawmaking, representation, and oversights, and therefore reiterated that the visit is geared towards establishing mechanisms for progress in the education sector.

The lawmaker use the medium to commend Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed for his open-door policy and dedication to improving education of the state.

In his response, the State Commissioner for education Dr. Muhammed Lawal Rimin Zayam, expressed his gratitude to the committee for the visit and pledged to work in close collaboration to achieve the ministry’s goals.

Dr. Muhammad Lawan reiterated the ministry’s readiness to partner with State house of assembly, particularly the education committee to fulfill its mandate of advancing the education sector in Bauchi State.

In his remarks, the Permanent Secretary of the education Ministry, Ali Babayo, explained the committee is always supporting the ministry’s activities, hence the need to cement the existing working relationship.

In their various contributions during the discussions, the Adviser on Education to the state Governor, the Project Coordinator, Global Partnership for Education, Kabiru Baba Azare, Special Adviser, Project AGILE/SUBEB, Engineer Mahmud Abdulkadir and Senior Special Adviser, Education Project, Mustapha Musa Rabo as well as the Special Adviser, Technical and Vocational Education, Professor Simon Madugu Yalams promised to complement the state government efforts of improving the state educational system..
