Bauchi State Govt receives over nine thousand IDP’s from Plateau State.

Bauchi State Government has received over nine thousand internally displaced persons from 3 local government areas of Mangu, Bokos and Barikin Ladi of Plateau State as a result of crisis.

The Commissioner of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management Hajiya Hajara Yakubu Wanka disclosed this in Toro Local Government when she led official of the Ministry on a sympathy visit and distribution of Food items and other materials to the victims.

Hajiya Hajara Wanka who expressed the state Government concerns on the increase of the crisis in the neighbouring State, called for Religious, Political and ethnic tolerance among the citizens of the area for Peaceful coexistence in the state.

The Commissioner called for calm among the IDP’s and assured them that the state government would to do every thing possible to support them.

She announced the state government donations of over one million naira, over one hundred bags of maize, Rice, Blankets, Mats, Palm Oil, Buckets, salt, Maggie and Plates among others to be distributed to the five stallement of the IDP’S in Toro Local Government and called for the judicious distribution to the victims.

Receiving the Commissioner, the Toro local government Care taker Committee Chairman Alhaji Danlami Garba Abubakar represented by his deputy Idris Abdullahi Tama, the Chairman applauded the state government for the kind gesture and promised judicious distribution of the items provided.

Danlami Garba said Toro Local Government has received and stalled thousands of internally displaced persons in some communities of Toro, Tilde, Goljaredi, Kara, Panshanu and Takanda among others.

Also speaking in some of the camp’s visited, Malam Musa Ibrahim, Hajiya Zainab Narabi, umar Abubakar appreciated the state government for the kind gesture and promised to remain law abiding while in the area.
