Bauchi State Commissioner for Information and Communication Alhaji Usman Shehu Usman has participated in a two-day conference in Abuja focused on digital transformation, marketing, and free trade opportunities within Nigeria and Africa.
The event brought together policymakers, business leaders, and digital experts to explore innovative strategies for economic growth and governance.
Alhaji Usman Shehu Usman at the conference, highlighted the importance of digital inclusion, modern communication technologies, and e-commerce in boosting Bauchi State’s economy.
He reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to leveraging digital strategies for improved business opportunities, investments, and revenue generation, aligning with Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed’s vision for economic diversification.
The information and Communication Commissioner expressed appreciation to the organizers and pledged to implement key takeaways for Bauchi State’s digital advancement.
According to the Federal Government, the AfCFTA Digital Trade Protocol is aimed to increase intra-African trade from 18% in 2022 to 50% by 2030 with over 109 million internet users and a thriving mobile economy, saying Nigeria has the foundation to lead Africa’s digital commerce evolution, While the Internet economy as projected, contributes 5.2% of Africa’s GDP this year, with the continent’s digital economy expected to reach $180 billion, up from $115 billion in 2020.
