BAUCHI STATE GOVERMENT REITERATES COMMITMENT TO FULL IMPLEMENTATION OF GUIDELINES, TOOLS FOR SAFE SCHOOLS

Bauchi State Ministry for Education has reiterated the commitment of the state government to the full implementation of the guidelines and tools for safe schools in the state.
The assertion was made by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Aliyu Babayo, at the commencement of training on a multi-sectoral costed plan of action for appropriate implementation of Safe School Declaration Bill 2024.
The training held in Bauchi was organised by a CSO, Syndicate in Supporting Women and Children Initiatives (SISWACHI), and it is for relevant stakeholders in the implementation of the project.
The Permanent Secretary assured the gathering of the Ministry’s readiness to swing into action for the implementation as soon as the SSD becomes a law in Bauchi State.
Speaking earlier, Ms Sadiya Iliyasu, Executive Director of SISWACHI, said that the training aims to prepare the line ministries to achieve the desired safety in schools when the bills finally become law in the state.
She said that the one-day training aimed to bring stakeholders to understand the various methodologies to adopt in the costed plan.
Sadiya Iliyasu added that “the SSD bill which has passed second reading in. Bauchi State, will be a milestone; and stressed the need for collective efforts ensuring a clear understanding of developing the plans using the appropriate methodologies.
According to her the participants were drawn from the Ministries of Budget and Economic Planning, Women Affairs, Education, Humanitarian, and Security agencies.
