Bauchi State Commissioner for information and Communications promises to deploy the use of technology in the state owned media organizations.

Bauchi State Commissioner, Ministry of Information and Communications, Alhaji Usman Shehu Usman has assured the readiness of the present administration to deploy the use of technology in the state own media organisations and ensure staff training.

Alhaji Usman Shehu Usman made the remarks when he received the management of Bauchi Radio Corporation on a congratulatory visit in his office.

The Commissioner said the governor’s dream is to have functional state own media organisations and challenge the staff to be punctual in championing the targeted goals of factual information dissemination of government policies and programs.

Responding to the management requests, the Commissioner stated that the state government has put the provision of working tools, employment and staff training on the use of technology and modalities to resuscitating broadcasting sector in the state.

He appreciated the management of the BRC for their doggedness in piloting the affairs of the stations urging them to add visual part of social media platforms such as YouTube, TikTok among others to achieve the desired objectives.

Earlier, the Managing Director, Bauchi Radio Corporation, Alhaji Chindo Waziri said they were at the commissioner’s office to congratulate him on his new appointment and to discuss ways of promoting government policies and programs.

Alhaji Chindo Waziri who described Usman Shehu Usman as BRC family member enjoined him to use his wealth of experience to actualize the intention of the present administration to digitize the state owned media organizations.

The BRC managing director also enumerated challenges faced by his stations to include lack staff due to retirement and death, obsolete transmitters, mobility and Power generating system among others.

While highlighting the success so far recorded by the station, Alhaji Chindo Waziri said BRC management has established social media platforms to enable its listener access it’s programs and news from across the world, hence the need for the Commissioner to consider the solarization of BRC for optimal performance.

The MD of the BRC prayed Allah’s guidance to the new Commissioner and assured management and staff commitment to support him for the development of the state.

In her comment, the BRC Head of ICT, Hajiya Hauwa Aliyu, called on the Commissioner to support the ICT unit of BRC with working apparatus for the smooth operation of the station.
