BAUCHI STATE COMMISIONER FOR HIGHER EDUCATION AND REGIONAL INTERGRATION CALLS FOR CONCERTED EFFORT IN THE CONDUCT OF RESEARCH AND INNOVATION BY TERTIARY INSTITUTIONS

The State Commissioner For Higher Education and Regional Integration Dr Lydia Haruna Tsammani has charged tertiary institutions in the state to be at the forefront of conducting cutting-edge research and innovation to thrive in the knowledge economy.
The Commissioner made the call while speaking to newsmen on Governor Bala Mohammed’s effort towards improving education sector in the state
She urged the institutions to be creative aimed at leveraging on government’s commitment in fostering research that addresses national challenges and drives economic growth for the development of the state
The commissioner noted that Governor Bala Mohammed’s led administration had been transformative at providing vital support to state owned tertiary institutions to excel in the face of new challenges and heightened expectations
She tasked the management of higher Institutions in the state to strengthen their accountability and transparency, saying efficient use of funds and resources remains paramount.
The Commissioner pledged her ministry’s commitment towards supporting institutions of learning in setting up and strengthening mechanisms for accountability and results-driven planning
Dr Lydia Haruna Tsammani however noted that the state government had made remarkable strides in advancing the course of tertiary education, but acknowledged that there are still numerous challenges to overcome.
