Bauchi State Assembly vows to sustain working relationship with the state ministry of information for effective coverage of state government’s policies and programmes.

Bauchi State House of Assembly has vowed to sustain working relationship with the state ministry of information and Communication to ensure effective coverage of state government’s policies and programmes.

The Chairman State assembly committee on information and Communication Musa Wakili Nakwada made the promised when he led other members of the committee on a familiarization visit to the state commissioner for information and Communication Usman Shehu Usman in his office.

He said the committee was in the commissioner’s office to congratulate him on his new appointment and to extend hand of friendship on the way forward to support the development of state broadcasting industry.

Musa Wakili Nakwada said the appointment of the Alhaji Usman Shehu Usman as information and Communication commissioner did not come to them as a surprise, considering his tract records of experience as a professional journalist who had worked for at both local and international media organizations.

He emphasized the importance of effective communication and information dissemination in promoting development programs especially at the grassroot level.

The Chairman of the committee appreciating Governor Bala Mohammed for appointing a veteran journalist to steer the activities of information and Communication ministry, advised the commissioner to use his wealth of experience in discharging his official responsibilities.

Responding, the state commissioner for information and Communication Alhaji Usman Shehu Usman while appreciating the lawmakers for the visit pledged to engage with key stakeholders in the information and Communication sector in promoting government policies and programmes.

He reaffirmed the state government commitment to reposition the state media industry for effective promotion of its policies and programmes especially at the grassroot.
