Bauchi State Assembly service Commission calls on the federal government to provide autonomy to the legislative arm.

In a bid to strengthen intergovernmental relations and enhance legislative efficiency, the Bauchi state Assembly Service Commission has urged the federal Government to provide autonomy to the legislative arm.
The State Chairman of the Assembly Commission, Haruna Bappah Disina made the call during a working visit to the Speaker of the State house of Assembly.
He expressed admiration for the developmental strides under Governor Bala Mohammed’s administration, particularly applauding efforts to revive the culture of rural and urban roads construction across the state which are crucial to the state economic landscape.
According to him, the visit is aimed to foster closer ties with the state Assembly and ensure alignment of state assembly commission with established legislative norms, thereby streamlining operations for enhanced legislative effectiveness.
Haruna Bappah Disina used the forum to appealed to the state government to provide enough fund and other needed logistics to the state assembly commission to allow them perform their duties without interference.
He announced plans by the commission to embark on staff promotion and engagement with other staff of the commission for optimum service delivery.
The Chairman of the State assembly commission while congratulating the state lawmakers for their victory during the 2023 elections, enjoined them to sustain good working relationship with the executive arm for the overall Development of the state.
Responding, The Speaker of the state house of Assembly Abubakar Y. Suleiman expressed the the state lawmakers readiness in championing the activities of the assembly commission for operational efficiency.
