BAUCHI STATE ASSEMBLY CALLS FOR ABSORBTION OF PRIVATE SECURITY OPERATIVES TO SECURE GOVERMENT PROPERTY

Bauchi State House of Assembly has called on the state government to absorb the services of private security companies for effective protection of Government facilities across the state.
The call was contained in motion moved by member representing Chinade/Madara in the state assembly Dr. Nasiru Ahmed Ala during plenary.
The lawmaker in his presentation, said engaging the services of private security firms would enhance the protection of government properties, hold security providers accountable and alleviate financial strain on the government.
Dr. Nasiru Ala added that despite the commendable services of the existing government employed watchmen, the challenges they face, have made it difficult to maintain comprehensive and effective security coverage.
According to him, private security companies have the capability to deploy well-trained personnel, utilize modern surveillance technology and implement efficient monitoring system.
Dr. Ahmed Ala in his prayers, called on the state government to ensure these private security companies are held accountable for any vandalization or damage that occurs under their watch.
He noted that private security companies when absorb by the government, would ensure compliance in respect of rules of engagement between the state government.
